Redelivery bond is a bond where any bond conditioned
for the return of property in compliance with an order
of a court. This bond even guarantees payment for a
judgment in some states. This bond contains a provision
for redelivery of any portion under the demand of Customs.
It also contains a provision for the performance of
conditions as legally imposed for the redelivery. This
redelivery bond is filed with the Customs department
and provides for the payment of liquidated damages in
the event of default.
This bond provides the owner or consignee for the delivery
for goods into state. When the sheriff takes possession
of the property, the defendant has to post a redelivery
bond to retain possession of the property before the
pending of final judgment. This bond may sometimes even
filed with the court or given to the sheriff. This redelivery
bond has to be executed with one or more sureties to
the effect that they are bound in an equal amount of
the bond filed by the plaintiff.
