Sales taxes bonds can be required by the Federal government city or state, but most of the time it is required by the State. Some States require this bond to guarantee that you or your business will pay the anticipated state sales taxes. A sales tax bond is considered a financial guarantee surety bond.
The surety bond amount is usually calculated by the gross receipts or the projected sales taxes that you will pay at the end of the year. Each state has their own sales tax bond form. A sales tax bond form is usually supplied to you by the obiligee. Having a Sales tax bond can actually benefit your company by not tying up your working capital with a security deposit, which can be held by the State for several years. Some Examples of states that require Sales tax bonds are California, Arizona and Texas.
